Reminding your customers
why they should buy

Point-of-sale (POS), also known as point-of-purchase (POP), is strategically placed advertising display material located at the retail outlet to remind customers of product benefits or announce special offers. It can take all kinds of forms, from freestanding showcards and shelf-wobblers to pop-up banners, window displays, leaflet dispensers, posters and in-store video.

POS works because it's placed at the final point of decision, when the customer is in the right frame of mind and looking to make a judgement. It gives you the opportunity to get across lots of key messages and stimulate their desire to purchase.

Demonstrating the difference

We developed a range of POS material for Granite Transformations' franchise network. This gave them the opportunity to select different pieces suited to their store layout or focusing on key benefits that tied in with their display.

The range of material included wall posters, counter stands, window display banners, leaflets and pavement signs. Franchisees were able to select from a range of different display vehicles as well as content, allowing them to tailor the message and look to their environment.

Special considerations

There are hundreds of ways point-of-sale can be used effectively, but care should always be taken to select material that works in its space and adds to the display, not detracts from it.
