How to get noticed
without spending a fortune

Promoting your brand or product doesn't always have to involve conventional methods or big budgets. In fact, used wisely, small budgets and 'off the wall' thinking can sometimes cause a bigger reaction than large multi-media campaigns.

Guerrilla marketing is a form of anything goes promotion that creates unexpected events that engage and interact with consumers to generate a buzz around a product or service. Instead of big budgets, the investment is one of time, energy and imagination. They usually take place in unexpected public places and focus on creating a memorable brand experience rather than actually trying to sell.

We created this simple, fun stunt for Araldite adhesive, challenging passers-by to pick up a pound coin from the street. People couldn't resist the temptation and quickly got the message when they found the coin was firmly stuck to the pavement. Resisting all manner of coaxing and violent abuse, it was a perfect demonstration of the product's staying power.

Special considerations

Guerrilla marketing is usually best for companies who are agile and able to react quickly to customer response. This makes it especially suitable for smaller businesses, although large brands have also used it successfully. Guerrilla marketing is more personal as it usually involves the public directly in some way, so it's very important that any company using it has consumer credibility and a reputation for good customer relationships.
