Email marketing (also known as trickle or drip marketing) is a fast, simple and highly effective way of keeping customers informed and prospects interested. For Granite Transformations, we use it as part of a coordinated franchise recruitment drive to follow up enquiries and maintain interest. We also use it for internal communications, to inform the network about conferences and events. For Trend, we use email marketing to reach designers, architects and specifiers and keep them up to date with the latest product developments and applications. We've even used it for our own Christmas card.

Special considerations

Email marketing has to be permission-based to avoid contravening spam laws (European Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003) as well as internet service providers' acceptable use policies. This means recipients have to elect to receive information in advance. Each campaign is only as strong as its database and this needs to be carefully compiled and checked.
